Privacy Policy

Information collected

Our hosting, security, and analytics providers may automatically process technical information such as IP address, browser and device type, approximate location, referring page, pages viewed, link clicks, and timestamps. If you voluntarily contact us or join a future mailing list, we may process the information you choose to provide, such as your name and email address.

Saved trips and shared itineraries

The My Trips planner stores trip details in your browser. It does not create an account or automatically synchronize trips to a server. Clearing browser data can remove saved trips. Exported backup files include your notes and costs and should be kept private.

If you choose to share an itinerary, the shared copy includes its name, destination, dates, stop names, locations, times and booking statuses. It excludes notes, costs, custom booking URLs and shortlisted alternatives. Anyone with the shared link or file can view those included details. Shared links carry the itinerary in the URL fragment. Shared copies do not update automatically.

The planner may cache its public files for offline access. Booking providers and maps require internet. We record general planner actions, such as creating a trip or clicking a booking link, without deliberately adding your trip names, notes or costs to those custom events.

How information is used

Information may be used to operate and secure the site, understand which guides and tools are useful, diagnose errors, measure traffic and outbound-link performance, prevent abuse, and comply with legal obligations. We do not use submitted contact information to send marketing unless you expressly request or consent to it.

Cookies and analytics

The site may use cookies or similar technologies for analytics, security, preferences, and affiliate attribution. You can limit cookies through your browser settings. Blocking cookies may prevent an affiliate partner from crediting Countryman Travels for a qualifying transaction.

Affiliate and external websites

Some links lead to independent companies that provide hotels, tickets, tours, merchandise, insurance, or other travel services. Those companies may set cookies or collect information after you visit their websites. Countryman Travels does not control their checkout systems, privacy practices, prices, inventory, or transaction records. Review the destination site's policies before providing personal or payment information.

Service providers and disclosure of information

We may use service providers for hosting, security, analytics, email, and affiliate measurement. They may process information only as needed to provide those services or as required by law. Information may also be disclosed to protect users, investigate fraud or security incidents, enforce applicable terms, or comply with a valid legal request.

Retention and choices

Technical and analytics information is retained only as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described above, subject to provider settings and legal requirements. You may use browser privacy controls, opt-out tools supplied by analytics or advertising providers, and the privacy controls offered by any external partner you visit.

Children

This site is intended for general travel planning and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly request personal information from children.

We may update this policy as the site, service providers, and legal requirements change. The effective date at the top identifies the current version.
