Chapter 18
Sin City still has rules.
Nevada permits adult-use cannabis for people 21 and older under state law, but the visitor rules are narrower than many travelers expect. Buy only from a state-licensed retailer and check that the state cannabis-establishment and business licenses are posted.
| Rule | Visitor version |
|---|---|
| Age and ID | 21+ with valid government-issued photo identification |
| Possession | Up to 2.5 ounces of cannabis or one-quarter ounce of concentrate; combinations cannot exceed the state equivalency limit |
| Where to use | Private property only when the owner permits it, or inside a licensed consumption lounge |
| Never here | Public places, hotel areas that prohibit it, or any moving vehicle — even as a passenger |
| Driving | Driving impaired is illegal and dangerous; use a sober transportation plan |
| Travel | Do not take cannabis across state lines or onto federal land, where federal law applies |
