📍 LocationOutside Las Vegas29450 Valley of Fire Rd, Overton, NV 89040
Outside Las Vegas, permit required. Weddings at Valley of Fire are handled as a Nevada State Parks special-use activity: mail the application and a $25 processing fee to the park about 60 days ahead, pay the $400 base fee plus $10 per person if approved, and add a separate photography permit if you hire a commercial photographer. The park closes entirely from December 1 to 14 and its West Entrance is closed Monday to Thursday through the end of 2026.
Valley of Fire is Nevada's first state park, and the park describes 40,000 acres of bright red Aztec sandstone set in gray and tan limestone, with petrified trees and petroglyphs more than 2,000 years old. There is no wedding venue as such: a ceremony is a special-use activity that the park approves case by case, at a location you agree with the ranger staff, under a statewide fee schedule. That makes it the most self-directed option on this list, and the one with the longest drive, the hottest summer and the strictest closure calendar.
Who it suits
Go to Valley of Fire when the landscape matters enough to justify a long, tightly planned excursion with a small group. Because the fee is $10 a head on top of the $400 base, it scales fine for a dozen people and poorly for eighty. Weekday photo shoots are the norm, since commercial photography above the smallest class is prohibited on weekends and holidays, so build the day around your photographer's permit as much as your own. Do not put anyone in a rideshare; the park warns, in so many words, that you may not get a return ride. And skip late fall: the whole park is closed December 1 to 14, with weddings explicitly prohibited.

Starting price and what it buys
There is no package; you pay permit fees. The Nevada State Parks special-use fee table lists Valley of Fire at a $400 base fee plus a $10 user fee, which the table applies per person with no adult-and-child split, and the application carries a non-refundable $25 processing fee. The park may add a cost-recovery charge based on the event's impact and may require liability insurance. Day-use entry is $10 per vehicle, or $15 for out-of-state plates, and still applies. If you hire a photographer, the photography permit is a separate schedule from $50 for Class A (up to 15 people or three vehicles) to $3,500 for the largest class, with a $100 per day date-hold fee for Classes B to G.
Fees and exclusions to price in
Special-use permit: $400 base plus $10 per person, plus a non-refundable $25 processing fee with the application
Day-use entry: $10 per vehicle for Nevada plates, $15 for out-of-state, charged separately
Photography permit if a commercial photographer is used: Class A $50 (2 to 15 people), Class B $200 (16 to 30), Class C $350 (31 to 50), up to Class G $3,500; $100 per day to hold dates for Classes B to G
Possible cost-recovery fee and liability insurance at the park's discretion
No officiant, chairs, sound or shade are provided; amplified sound needs prior approval
Photography and outside photographers
The park provides nothing, and a hired photographer needs a photography permit on top of your special-use permit. Photography and filming are prohibited on weekends and holidays except for the smallest Class A permit, early set-up or after-hours access needs advance approval, and drones are banned unless an approved photography permit specifically covers them because the park has daily helicopter landings. Guest phone photography is not restricted. Whether one application can cover both the ceremony and a paid photographer is not spelled out; ask the park.
Accessibility, weather and permits
Apply by mail about 60 days ahead; approval or denial comes in writing
